In 2001, while deployed aboard the USS Enterprise, I had the opportunity to sketch many aircraft that were a combination of real-world and fictional elements. After we returned from deployment, I revisited the sketches and turned them into a more concrete body of work to build on later. This ekranoplan is similar to the open-water ekranoplan, however forward propulsion is a bit different and it has provision for a front ramp for disembarking wheeled and tracked vehicles.
